6. Dashcams, Cameras and Third-Party Premises
LTJ Transport vehicles may be fitted with dashcams for safety and insurance purposes. These record footage of the road and immediate surroundings while the vehicle is in operation. Dashcam footage is retained only as long as necessary and is used solely for the purposes of insurance claims or legal proceedings.
When operating on third-party premises such as garages, workshops, dealerships or salvage yards, our drivers are required to deactivate or obscure any recording equipment — including dashcams and mobile devices — that could capture images of other workers, employees, or proprietary operations on those premises. This requirement exists to respect the privacy rights of individuals working in those environments and to comply with applicable data protection law.
If you operate a premises and have specific requirements regarding cameras or recording equipment, please inform us at the time of booking and we will ensure these are communicated to our driver.
7. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:
- With our motor trade insurer, where required in connection with a claim or policy
- With law enforcement or regulatory authorities, where we are legally required to do so
- With third-party service providers who assist us in delivering the service (e.g. subcontracted drivers), who are bound by appropriate data protection obligations
8. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. In practice:
- Enquiries that do not result in a booking are deleted within 6 months
- Records relating to completed jobs are retained for 6 years in line with UK tax and legal requirements
- Dashcam footage is overwritten on a rolling basis unless retained for a specific claim
